Today has largely been spent in the library.

I also went visiting – when in the Banff Centre, you’ll often find yourself invited to have a look inside a studio or to sit and have coffee. It’s one of the neat things about coming here…there’s no end of interesting people to talk to.

Today, I went to see John Graham’s studio. He’s a painter from Guelph, and was kind enough to let me take some pictures of his work. He says that he’s working on putting together sets of pieces for a gallery show – doesn’t have a web site yet, but I suspect he’ll be creating one soon.

His work reminds me of Emily Carr and Tom Thomson. I don’t know a lot about art, but I really enjoyed looking at his work. It’s fantastic.

This one is my favourite. It’s tentatively titled ‘Evening Waters.’ John said that he’s going to make a couple more like it:

(sorry – I know these are big images, but you want to see the details in it. Dad, thanks again for lending me your camera!)
