I cast off and finished my Adamas shawl last night. Once it was off the needles, I started the blocking process:

And Olympic soak requires some Eucalan and some lukewarm water. It's too cold outside to even think about a cold water rinse!

Fifteen to twenty minutes in the water...just enough time to have an Olympic snack. I'm pretty sure it's not a banned substance.

I left the shawl to dry over the shower curtain - it was just too big to spread out on a bed or on the floor. The result is that the edges aren't as sharp as they could be. That's okay, though - the wool is springy and I think it'll revert to smooth edges no matter what I do. I used one skein of Fleece Artist Blue Faced Leicester 2/8, on 4.25mm needles (US 6). There's still quite a bit of yarn left over...I did the full fourteen repeats of the body chart, and I think I probably could have done another four or five if I'd wanted to.
And here you go:

And a detailed shot of the lace:

Let me say this: I love Fleece Artist yarns. The colour doesn't bleed in the wash, and I rarely encounter knots or breaks in the yarn. The colourways are really nice, and the price is pretty reasonable. It's a Canadian product, too, and I'm pleased to use it.
And now, on to the short track portion of my program. Can I turn out a pair of socks in a week? Can I hold onto my Olympic momentum? We'll see!
