    New year's day.

I had a nice New Year's Eve - I watched a couple movies, and then settled down to the main attraction. Aliens is a tradition now, and I enjoyed it! I'm watching The Greatest Show On Earth this afternoon...definitely a little more light-hearted. No aliens. Just Charlton Heston.

We took the tree down this afternoon. Luna - small bad cat that she is - had started to steal ornaments off the tree, and she was getting bolder and bolder about taking them. The place feels a bit bare with it gone, though!

I'm down to the last few days of my winter vacation, and knitting away on the Kureyoon sweater. I finished the back this morning. Doesn't look like the sweater will be finished before I go back to work, but I'll see what I can do.

A quiet day. It's dull and overcast today, and the snow started about a half an hour ago. The temperature is supposed to drop almost twenty degrees before the night is through...I think it's going to be a perfect evening for reading Dickens.
