I’ve started working on that new story in earnest, and I’m cribbing from Tennyson as I go. Not really cribbing, but there is a line about the gloom of heather amid the bracken. If you’re going to look for inspiration in a first draft, why not turn to the poets?
The gloom of Heather? You don’t seem that gloomy to me.
Now Bracken…? Him, I’ve never met. :)
Oh, Fred. He made me giggle and lose my train of thought. I hadn’t thought that having Heather as a given name might be as useful in a sentence as Carrie(misspelled).
I do love that poem! Nicely phrased.
