A quiet and productive day. I was off sick yesterday – and missed a conference that I’d been really looking forward to – but able to get myself to work today.
I have been so much more aware of the extra daylight this year. More than I remember – it must be from the walking commute. That change is pleasing to me. And I’ve been aware of how I am thinking and planning the new running shoes I’ll get when my income tax refund comes through, too. Thinking eagerly about running shoes.
That change is startling to me. I had not anticipated that I would be slowly transformed into somebody who reads about toe caps and the stickiness of shoe treads. Seriously. I read about these things now.
So that was the week. Not bad, not outstanding, but peppered with good things (and some bad – the sick day was not very nice). I’m going to catch up on The Archers, email the poet from the Banff Centre who enjoys gossiping about The Archers with me, and then settle in to watch more House of Cards on Netflix.
Hope you’re feeling better!
I gave House of Cards a shot, and I like some things about it, although not as much as the British original. I’ll keep watching, but I’m not sure yet for how long.
