Snowstorm Sunday.

So, no – I didn’t make it to Dungeons and Dragons last night, even though I really wanted to. Too much pain the night before and during the day. Not fun. I was looking forward to it.

Sunday snowstorm.

I had a better sleep last night – only woken up with pain once – and the muscle spasm in my neck and shoulders seems to be letting go. We’re in the midst of a big snowstorm today. Lots of snow and wind, and blowing snow, and the talk of freezing rain. Very little visibility. And more snow. It’s just the right time of year for us to get another big dump, and I’m quite glad that it happened on a Sunday and not on a Monday (we don’t get snow days in Calgary – unless it’s more than a meter, you go to work).

I’m going to take some more Tylenol, grab the heating pad, and settle in with Hugh Howey’s Shift omnibus, I think. The power has been flickering a bit, but I’ve got nowhere to be today, and nothing to do, so I’ll just sit in my comfy chair and watch it snow.

A *meter*’s worth of snow wouldn’t shut down work there? Interesting… though here (about 3 feet) would be a record snowfall/probably shut down things for days…

Wow. Our office has stayed open during heavy snowfall, or closed during icy conditions, so it’s not always about how many inches (or cm) have fallen. But yeah, a meter would almost definitely keep me home, and almost definitely because my office was closed for the day.

A meter here would trigger a state of emergency response, and it would be illegal to even get on the road until the governor lifts the S of E. That’s to allow for plowing. But then this is the state with the most cars per square mile in the whole of north America, so that might have an influence.
