Not much going on over the last few days – very busy at work (just once, I’d like to report that things are slow and we’re bored), an eleven-hour day on Friday, and then the start of a summer cold yesterday. Blech. I managed to finish reading Nightmare at 20,000 Feet: Horror Stories by Richard Matheson today, but only because there was just a little bit left to read.
It’s a good book – pulpy horror stories, with an introduction by Stephen King that I thought was really well done. Matheson’s work lacks in beauty and grace, but he makes up for it with the ability to write chilling stories (the cover story is arguably one that he is best known for – it was made into a Twilight Zone episode and spoofed by The Simpsons).
I don’t think I’m up for much reading this evening, though. Stupid summer cold. It’s hot and I’m tired and not feeling well. Stupid.
